Why this register, now
A decade of installs, all ageing at once.
The commercial rooftop boom ran on a tariff scheme with published accreditation dates. That means the entire installed base has a birthday on the public record — and inverters have a design life measured against it. The replacement cohort isn't a guess; it's a calendar. What has been missing is a register that reads it.
Inverter design life against connection vintage — the single most reliable service trigger on a solar asset, and it's derived from public accreditation data.
Ownership change. New owners review supplier arrangements. Filings tell you months before the incumbent finds out.
Consented site expansion. A new building means new roof, and the array extension goes to whoever is already in the conversation.
A private inverter swap leaves no public trace. Every record carrying an age-based signal says so, in the record. We'd rather you make the call informed.

PRIORITY FALLS IF — the extension consent lapses or is built without roof plant, or the array sits under a parent-level European framework that the UK entity doesn't control. Both are answerable in the first two minutes of a call, and neither is answerable from the public record.

The grid register and the accreditation register rarely agree exactly. We print both and the delta rather than picking a winner quietly. On a 1.2MWp array a 4.8% gap is worth knowing before you quote.
This array is too young for a replacement pitch. It is still P1, because a consented extension and a registered finance charge are a better trigger than a birthday. Records are graded on what's actually happening.
Resolving the operator to its group shows two more UK sites with no registered array. One record, three opportunities — and a warning that the decision-maker isn't in the building.
The register is national. Your pack arrives sorted by drive distance from your depot, so the top of the list is genuinely the top of the list.
The service clock
"Due" is a strong word.
We only use it when we can prove it.
Solar has no statutory inspection cycle to lean on, which makes it very easy to invent urgency. We don't. Age-based windows are labelled PREDICTED, every one of them carries its missing-evidence line, and a record can't be promoted to top priority on age alone.
A dated event in a document we hold: consent decided, charge registered, ownership transferred, notice published. These drive top-priority grading.
Accreditation vintage plus design life, with the inverter class named as an inference. Real, useful, and honestly labelled as arithmetic.
Capacity on the register but no vintage, or a join that didn't reach confidence. Kept in the register, graded down, never dressed up.
Where this comes from
No secrets. Just the join.
Every source below is public. What you're buying is the join — extraction, cross-referencing, verification and upkeep across all of them. No single register tells you "arrays entering the replacement window, by operator, with nobody holding the contract". This one does.
Every distribution network operator publishes its connected generation monthly — location, capacity, technology, connection date. The anchor dataset, ingested across all 14 licence areas, in full, every month.

Exclusive means exclusive: one licensed firm per territory, for this register. When a territory is taken, it is closed, and the next enquirer is told it's closed.
The register itself is national. Records are delivered sorted by drive distance from your base postcode, or filtered to the exact areas you serve — the licence determines who else can hold them.

The arithmetic
One contract pays for it.
A commercial O&M contract on a 500kWp roof array typically runs £2,500–£6,000 a year on a multi-year term. An inverter replacement on the same array is a five-figure job in its own right. An extension on a consented new roof is a fresh install.
If the register hands you one account in a year that you would not otherwise have found, it has paid for itself several times over — and there are hundreds of arrays in every territory that nobody has claimed.

Where does the data actually come from?
Public sources, all named on the record: DNO Embedded Capacity Registers, accreditation registers, local authority planning files and Companies House. You could assemble it yourself — for one array, in about an hour. We do it for every array in your territory, cross-referenced, graded and refreshed, with the source cited on every field so you can check our working.
How do you know the inverter is due if you've never been on the roof?
We don't, and the record says so. What we know is the accreditation date, the capacity, the mounting method and the resulting likely inverter class — all cited — and what design life implies from those. That's labelled a predicted signal, with a missing-evidence line stating plainly that a private replacement would leave no public trace.
What that gets you is a call with a specific, checkable opening rather than a cold one. Records where we can prove an event — consent, charge, ownership change, published notice — are graded above the age-based ones, deliberately.
Two sources disagree on capacity. Which do you use?
Both. The grid register figure and the declared figure are shown side by side with the percentage delta, and the match is labelled high-confidence rather than confirmed, with the join rule and its tolerance printed. Quietly picking one and presenting it as fact is how a register loses an argument on site.
How current is it?
Grid registers are re-ingested monthly as each operator publishes; filings and planning decisions are swept weekly. Your territory feed carries the changes, flagged for action. After a complete source walk, records no longer present are pruned rather than left to decay — so counts sometimes go down, and we tell you when they do.
What does it cost?
Territory licences start at £499 a month on a six-month minimum term. The price for your patch depends on its size — assets on register and live service windows within it — and is quoted with your sample pack, so you see what you're buying first. National licences by enquiry.
What about GDPR?
The register holds site- and company-level data: operators, addresses, assets, capacities and dates, drawn from public statutory sources. It does not ship personal contact data. Who to ring at the operator is your craft; which operators to ring, and when, is ours.
